It has been a lifelong passion of mine to capture, in photographs, the wonder and beauty of God's natural creation.A Floridian for 26 years, I have studied and learned to appreciate the native flora and fauna and the co-dependency between them. In 2002, I completed a Florida Master Naturalist course through the U of Florida, and have devoted the past 10 years of my life aiding in habitat restoration efforts at a local county preserve to benefit the endangered Florida Scrub Jay (perched on my head in profile photo)
My photographs have been published in native plant guides, local tourism and parks brochures and websites, a beautiful local coffee table book etc .Most recently, I was featured in a four page spread (including cover) in the Florida Native Plant Society magazine -'The Palmetto'.The article, 'Natives in Action', illustrates the use of native plants by wildlife.I felt honoured by this quote by the editor.. 'Peg Urban's joy in the natural world shines through in her photography, which depicts native plants and the animals that visit them. Her images are rich with life and color.' It is my hope that those viewing my images will derive some of that joy as well.
